CEO students are paired with local business leaders and visit area businesses, gain valuable insights from guest lecturers and put their knowledge and teamwork to the test by planning and organizing a class business. Students participating in the program learn many critical concepts including problem solving skills, teamwork, self-motivation, responsibility, higher order thinking, communication and inquiry.
Southwest Indiana Association of Realtors board member Anna Lou Chapman presented the Daviess County CEO program with a $1,000 sponsorship check at the CEO dinner event on Wednesday.
Students in the Daviess County Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities or CEO class hosted a murder mystery dinner theater Wednesday night at WestGate Academy.
Mayor Goodnight presented the 10th annual Faith and Community in Action Award to Morgan Young of Oakbrook Church. The award honors spiritually-based individuals or groups who contribute, through their time and talent, in making a positive difference in our community.
“Already, just in the first few months of the program, the growth and development for those students in terms of their business acumen, their communication ability – it’s just been off the charts,” Springer said. “Anybody that’s had a chance to interact with CEO students comes away with the same impression like, “Holy cow these are some really, really awesome kids.”
