Promoted as an event that will "bring Saturday Night Live comedy from New York to Montgomery County," the Montgomery CEO class still has a limited number of tickets to "A Night in New York," set for Saturday, March 3, at the Hillsboro KC Hall.
About 50 runners and walkers take off in the rain Saturday in the Hot Chocolate 5K Run and Walk at Nichols Park. Event proceeds go to the students in the Morgan-Scott CEO program for high school seniors. CEO stands for creating entrepreneurial opportunities. CEO graduates receive six credit hours at no cost through Lincoln Land Community College.
Craig Lindvahl, executive director of the Midland Institute of Entrepreneurship in Effingham, started the first CEO class in Effingham in 2008. Now there are 35 CEO programs in Illinois, including the one in the Riverbend.
Local CEO students are putting on an event in Annandale next month, featuring music and a silent auction.
“Our goal is for every guest to leave our conference with a renewed sense of inspiration and innovation that they can use in their lives and businesses after hearing the fantastic breakout and keynote speakers,” Elder said.
