Faith and Community in Action Award presented to Morgan Young
Mayor Greg Goodnight hosted the Mayor’s Prayer and Action Breakfast at the Kokomo Senior Citizens Center on Monday, Jan. 7.
“As we begin 2019, it is proper to come together with my fellow citizens for reflection and guidance,” said Goodnight. “The Mayor’s Prayer and Action Breakfast is an uplifting event the entire community looks forward to each year.”
This annual, interdenominational service joins civic and religious leaders offered prayers of intercession for elected officials, police, firefighters, educators, leaders of the labor, business, and medical communities as well as spiritual leaders.
Mayor Goodnight presented the 10th annual Faith and Community in Action Award to Morgan Young of Oakbrook Church. The award honors spiritually-based individuals or groups who contribute, through their time and talent, in making a positive difference in our community.
“I wanted to recognize Morgan’s continued faith, his hard work, and his unending support for this community,” said Goodnight. “He has set an example for all of us to follow.”
Young has been a pastor at Oakbrook Church for 20 years and is the facilitator of the Kokomo CEO program. He and his wife, Sandra, are owners of Main Street Café as well.
