Twenty students have been selected for the Southwest Minnesota Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program for the 2018-19 school year. Seven of the selected students attend school in Pipestone County: three from Pipestone Area Schools (PAS), three from Edgerton Public and one from Southwest Christian.
The Riverbend CEO Program held its annual trade show last night in Alton. Students from three Riverbend high schools presented their 11 start-up small businesses to the public as a closing project for their class. More than 100 people stopped by to visit the booths and do businesses with the young entrepreneurs.
CARBONDALE — Creativity was alive and well Tuesday night at Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center. Students from the Jackson, Williamson and Union Counties Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities, or CEO, programs showcased their products and services at the third annual trade show in Southern Illinois.
The Riverbend CEO Program will wrap up its second year with a Trade Show on Tuesday in Alton. More than a dozen students from three area high schools are taking part in the class this session and all have been challenged with planning and starting up their own small business. Those businesses will then be featured at the show.
Representatives of Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities told Southwest School Corp. trustees that their program could expand options for students prior to the start of the board’s meeting Wednesday.
