A huge crowd attended the Bond County CEO Business Trade Show Wednesday evening in Greenville, where 12 students in the inaugural class of the CEO program presented their individual businesses.
For the 23 juniors and seniors who hail from Sterling, Dixon, Rock Falls, Newman, Prophetstown, Milledgeville, Oregon and Eastland high schools, the class hasn’t been easy. Nothing worthwhile is, after all.
"This isn't about me telling them what to do, it's about them finding their own way... They've become great young adults. They have become what we anticipated this program should do for them."
“There are a lot of unique offerings here tonight,” said Kristy Sayers, one of the facilitators for CEO. “I think it shows their creativity and their entrepreneurial mindset that they’ve picked up this year with CEO.”
“This year’s trade show exceeded our expectations in every way,” said program facilitator Pete Visintin, owner of Fight the Fight Clothing. “The support from members of all the Macoupin County communities for what the students in this program are doing is absolutely awesome!”
