Business Visit:SouthernTrust Bank

Last week, our CEO students had the opportunity to visit SouthernTrust Bank at their Goreville branch for an insightful, behind-the-scenes experience in the banking industry.
Loan Officer Angela Webb provided a tour of the facility and introduced students to the full team, giving them a deeper understanding of the many roles it takes to keep a bank operating efficiently. For many students, this was their first look beyond the teller window, offering valuable perspective on daily bank operations.
Bank President and CEO Travis Clem spent time with the class discussing commercial lending, including what is required to apply for a business loan. He also walked students through a bank balance sheet, highlighting key financial indicators that signal a healthy institution. When asked about future expansion, Travis shared that SouthernTrust is focused on growth through acquisition rather than building new locations from the ground up.
