The Clay County CEO program had the opportunity to visit the Clay County Sheriff's Office and Courthouse to meet with Sheriff Andy Myers and learn more about what happens behind the scenes on the legal side of Clay County. We took a tour of the jail and department and got to see what the inside of a cell looks like.
Next, Circuit Clerk, Crystal Ballard, took us around the courthouse to see all the offices and courtrooms, along with the State's Attorney and other public offices. After touring the building, we had the opportunity to sit in on court hearings and watch Judge Powless and Mrs. Ballard do their job.
A big thank you to Sheriff Myers, Crystal Ballard, Judge Powless, and Mr. Givens for taking time out of their morning to meet with us!
