Heather Greenwood
Southeast Illinois AHEC DirectorBoard MemberI’m Heather Greenwood, and I’m honored to serve on the Clay County CEO Board. I currently serve as Director of the Southeast Illinois Area Health Education Center (AHEC) with Wabash General Hospital, where I work across 19 counties to connect students with career opportunities and help them navigate real-world pathways after high school.
My work is centered around one core belief: students deserve better guidance as they step into adulthood. Not just exposure to careers, but practical understanding of how to make decisions that shape their future.
In addition to my role in healthcare education, I’m the founder of Florine Swim, a brand built around solving real problems for real women. Building a business from the ground up has given me firsthand experience in risk-taking, decision-making, and resilience - lessons that I believe are just as important as anything taught in a classroom.
I’m passionate about helping young people feel more prepared and less overwhelmed as they navigate life after graduation.
My husband and I are raising our two young children here in Southern Illinois, and I’m proud to be part of a community that is investing in its next generation of leaders.
