WHAT CEO BOARD MEMBERS DO
Board members are active, engaged community leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to the operational oversight of our local CEO Program.
Facilitator Support: Board members provide ongoing support to the CEO Facilitator.
Event Planning: Board members plan and execute key CEO events, including investor and mentor socials, and the student trade show.
Student Recruitment & Selection: Board members organize recruitment efforts, engage with local schools, and oversee the selection of CEO students.
Mentorship Coordination: Board members recruit mentors, manage mentor-student pairings, and ensure mentor program success.
School Liaison: Board members maintain communication with school administrators to coordinate student participation and scheduling.
Investor Recruitment & Care: Board members recruit and maintain relationships with local investors, ensuring the program's financial sustainability.

Natalie Oswald
PartnerBoard Chair Committees: Facilitator Review / HireNatalie L. Oswald is a partner in the transactional practice group of Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu & Mitchell LLP, focusing primarily on commercial real estate, buying and selling of businesses, business transactions, taxation, and health care law. In addition to her service on the Adams County CEO board, she serves on the United Way of Adams County board, the State Street Bank board, is a past member of the Illinois State Bar Association Assembly, is a past board member of the Chaddock board, the Chaddock Attachment and Trauma Services board and is a past board member and president of the YWCA of Quincy, Cornerstone Foundation for Families and the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association.
Maggie Strong

With a Master's degree in business and over 20 years of experience in economic and community development, Maggie knows what it takes to empower communities and nonprofits to unlock their full potential.Maggie's expertise lies in guiding leaders through collaborative processes that drive impactful change. She is trained in McNellis Compression Planning® and certified in Nonprofit Board Consulting through BoardSource. Maggie’s approach focuses on inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration, ensuring that every voice is heard and every community thrives.
Matt Schmidt
Development DirectorTreasurerMatt Schmidt serves as the development director for The Salvation Army of Quincy and Hannibal. Matt graduated from Camp Point Central and returned to Adams County after college and spent 18 years in news broadcasting with KHQA and WGEM. Matt now lives in Quincy with his wife, Amy Lannerd, and their five children.
Gena Finley
Program CoordinatorSecretary Committees: School CoordinatorGena Finley is Program Coordinator for the Quincy Area Vocational Technical Center (QAVTC) and is the board secretary for the Adams County CEO program. Gena also serves as the co-chair of the Adams County Career Guidance Team. Gena has been employed by Quincy Public Schools since 2002 in a variety of roles. In her capacity as Program Coordinator for QAVTC, she regularly promotes career exploration, so being part of the CEO program is a natural fit and she is very excited for these opportunities for Adams County students. She is married to Chris and has two adult children, Sierra and Drew. She also teaches fitness classes at the Kroc Center.
Madison Badgley
Director of Business DevelopmentBoard Member Committees: Media, MentoringMadison is the Director of Business Development at the Great River Economic Development Foundation in Quincy, IL. As the Director of Business Development, Madison serves as the go-to for businesses in the region, helping them in all parts of their business. In addition, she works to enhance the quality of life for individuals and businesses in Adams County. Madison received her undergraduate degree in strategic communications with an emphasis in marketing from Quincy University. She has an extensive background in digital marketing, graphic design, public relations, and communications.
Alex Eckhardt
Owner/FounderBoard Member Committees: Alumni, MediaAlex Eckhardt is an alumni of the Inaugural Adams County CEO Class of 2021. He has successfully grown his business, Q-Town Kicks, that he started as his individual business during the program.
John Johannes
Community PresidentBoard Member Committees: Facilitator Review / HireJohn Johannes is Vice President/Community Bank President and Commercial Lender for First Mid Bank & Trust in Quincy, Adams County and the surrounding area. He has 30 years of banking experience with over 20 years in commercial lending. He enjoys helping businesses of all sizes with their financial needs. Johannes has been involved in the community for several years through many organizations and nonprofit boards, as well as a coach in youth sports. He is currently President of the Quincy Notre Dame Foundation Board and President of Adams County CEO. He is on the Salvation Army Advisory Board (Past Chairman) and Finance and Property Committees. He is actively involved with the Quincy Exchange Club and Chairman of Youth Projects for the club. Johannes received a degree in Business with a major in Finance from Western Illinois University.
Jeff Longlett
President/CEOBoard Member Committees: Investor Recruitment & Care, MentoringJeff Longlett is the President/CEO at North Adams State Bank. He is a lifelong resident of Adams County and has been in the community banking industry for 25 years. He enjoys working with locally owned businesses and seeing them succeed. Jeff believes everyone can be an entrepreneur at some level and this program gives young adults the chance to see different opportunities at the local level. In addition to CEO, Jeff also serves as the President of the Adams County 4-H Foundation and Liberty FFA Alumni. He and his family live on their family farm where they raise cattle. Jeff graduated from Western Illinois University, the CBAI Community Bankers School and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI.

SuperintendentBoard Member Committees: Facilitator Review / Hire, School CoordinatorErica is in her 5th year as Superintendent at Central CUSD #3 bringing with her more than 24 years of experience in education. She joined Central CUSD #3 in 2002 as their high school math teacher. After teaching math for 9 years, she served as the Junior High Principal for 8 years before moving into her current role. In addition to Adams County CEO, she currently sits on the board of Western Area Schools Health Insurance Coop. She and her husband of 25 years, Galen, live on a farm where they raise hay and lambs.
