No Foolin' Here... Wayne County CEO visited with Nikki Carter at Carter Trucking last week on April 1st. Nikki took time to explain the evolution of the business for her and husband Jeremy since buying out Jeremy's parents. The biggest transformation for them was the move from Mill Shoals to the west side of Fairfield. They also spent many years researching a software program that would bring their operation into the 21st century. Nikki and Jeremy also took time to show students the software in action to schedule and track their trucks, trying to ensure no "empty miles" while keep drivers safe. Jeremy handles the scheduling logistics and sales, while Nikki runs the business operations. They both explained that while they face many challenges, one of their biggest unknowns is the weather. Nikki also educated students on the importance of employee reward and incentive programs to promote safety on the road and around the shop. Jeremy and Nikki have been important supporters of the Wayne County CEO program. We appreciate their time and dedication to the students of Wayne County.
