CEO has learned this week that government policy can affect business, and they need to be aware and active in local, state, and national politics.

RJL Solutions invited CEO to tour the Indianapolis State House with their Government Relations Manager Derion Searcey to meet with local Representative Tonya Pfaff and the Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Brian Schutt. Each shared the role they play in policies and resources they bring to the state and Terre Haute.

Because legislators were not in session, CEO toured the State House to sit in both chambers, see the state Supreme Court courtroom, visit the treasury secretary's office and see the Lt. Governor's office.
In the past, CEO classes have attended county commissioners meetings, city council meetings, and met with the mayor of Terre Haute. How government works may be taught in high school government class, but meeting those who do it for a living makes it more meaningful.
