🐾 Business Visit Spotlight 🐾

This morning, our Spoon River CEO students had the opportunity to visit Kemmy's Kennels in Lewistown, IL, owned and operated by Kem Richardson.

From the moment we arrived, Kem’s love for all animals was undeniable. Caring for cats, dogs, horses (and even the occasional raccoon) she has built a business rooted in passion, dedication, and love for what she does. Her heart was shown in every interaction!

This visit was especially meaningful for our group, as one of our current students, Ahnna Richardson, is Kem’s daughter. It made the experience even more special to see the connection between family, entrepreneurship and community; along with our furry friends! 🐱🐶🐴🦝

Kem shared the story behind how Kemmy’s Kennels came to be, along with valuable insights into running and growing a business that meets a need in your community. While we learned so much, getting to meet and spend time with all the animals was definitely a fan favorite for our animal-loving group!
