Yesterday, our Silver Creek Area CEO students had the opportunity to visit Warrior Logo Wear in Mascoutah, and it was one of those mornings that reminds you why these experiences matter so much.
We arrived bright and early at 6:50 a.m., and owners Rick and Chris Jackson were already there waiting for us. Rick, Chris’s dad, stood out front ready to greet us, setting the tone for the morning before we even walked through the door. Inside, boxes of donuts were waiting, which immediately excited our students, and we knew right away this was going to be a great visit.
It did not take long to realize we were not just visiting a business. We were being invited into a family story built on hard work, faith in the process, and perseverance.
Chris and Rick shared how Warrior Logo Wear began in a basement eight years ago, where they spent years learning, growing, and figuring things out one step at a time. Hearing how that small beginning eventually led to moving into their current home in the heart of Mascoutah, and growing into the thriving operation they have today was incredibly inspiring for our students.
Chris talked about his journey, from serving 16 years in the Air National Guard and working as a police officer and recruiter, to now running the business full time. His discipline, work ethic, and commitment to doing things the right way were evident in every part of their operation.
As we toured the shop, they walked us through how nearly 95 percent of their work comes through online stores and how they manage close to 180 of them. We watched the entire process, from design and printing to pressing and shipping, and saw firsthand what it takes to handle orders ranging from a few items to thousands at a time. The pride they take in quality and consistency was impossible to miss.
One of the biggest lessons Chris shared was simple, but powerful. Treat your customers like family. He reminded our students that success is not just about making sales. It is about building relationships, earning trust, and showing up for people. This is a lesson we’ve heard repeated over and over again. It’s truly resonating with our students.
Rick shared what it was like moving into their brick and mortar location and how that decision helped strengthen their presence in the community. He also explained the meaning behind their shield logo, representing quality, service, and integrity, and why staying consistent matters. He shared that one of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been watching his son grow through the business, both personally and professionally. That moment was especially meaningful for our students to hear.
We also talked about branding, purpose, and staying focused as a company grows. It was a great reminder that a strong business is built on clear values and consistency.
To top off an already meaningful visit, Chris and Rick surprised our students with custom sublimated Silver Creek Area CEO mouse pads and even offered to make each student custom shirts. It was such a thoughtful gesture and showed how much they genuinely care about investing in the next generation.
We ended the morning with a group photo by their beautiful mural, full of smiles, full of donuts, and full of inspiration.
We left Warrior Logo Wear feeling grateful, encouraged, and motivated. This is not just a successful business. It is a story of family, hard work, resilience, and relationships that matter. Thank you, Rick and Chris, for opening your doors, sharing your journey, and pouring into our students. Experiences like this are what make our program so special.
