About Me
Gabby Block is a senior at Bement High School and hopes to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall. She is involved in many things at school such as the National Honor Society, lifesavers, student council, cross country, basketball, and softball. She is also the president of her 4-H club and lives on an alpaca farm. In her free time, she likes to work in the shop with her mom, watch movies, crochet, run, and work at the Allerton Café. Gabby enjoys working with teams and is always excited to try something new, experience new things, work on a project, meet new people, and get creative.
About My Business
I created Block Barn Quilts to combine my passions of woodworking and creativity, all while delivering fully customized pieces to customers that represent their family. My grandpa lives on a dairy farm in northern Illinois, and I always remember working on projects with him in the shop, and even seeing barn quilts that he made himself displayed around the property. Barn quilts were invented over 300 years ago and have a strong historical background, since they were initially used to represent Pioneer families. Seeing my grandpa’s barn quilts gave me a sense of pride and home, so I wanted to provide that feeling with a piece of quality, rustic-style decor for other people.
