Today’s guest speakers, Tom Ward and Lauren Boggs from Peoples National Bank, poured into our students as part of our strong network of investor businesses.
As an investor business, People’s National Bank plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of leaders. Today, they shared what employers are truly looking for—reliability, a positive attitude, strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and professional behavior.
Students were reminded that first impressions matter. Showing up early, dressing appropriately, and maintaining a neat appearance can set the tone for success. We also discussed how body language speaks first—eye contact, a smile, and a firm handshake go a long way in making a lasting impression.
One of the biggest takeaways: you don’t need to be perfect—you need to be prepared, positive, and professional.
Students were encouraged to lead with qualities like trustworthiness, dependability, and motivation.
We are so thankful for our investor businesses who continue to invest their time, knowledge, and support into our program!
