Today we had the opportunity to tour TCCI Manufacturing in Decatur, Illinois, and it was an incredible experience for our students! π
TCCI manufactures air compressors for commercial vehicles on a global scale, and we are grateful to Claire Demirjian, Dennis Flaherty (COO), and Kristy (Sales Development Rep) for taking the time to share their knowledge and give us a behind-the-scenes look at their operations.
We also learned about an exciting innovationβTCCI is currently installing a wind tunnel that will be the only one of its kind in the United States, available for their clients to rent and test vehicles in a variety of weather conditions. An incredible investment in the future of technology and engineering right here in our community! π¬οΈπ
Dennis emphasized that no matter how advanced technology becomes, nothing replaces face-to-face relationshipsβa powerful reminder in todayβs world. The team also reinforced the importance of hard work, strong work ethic, passion, independence, and follow-through as the foundation of being a successful employee and leader. They challenged students to take initiativeβsee what needs to be done and do itβa mindset that truly sets people apart.
One message that truly stood out was the importance of always striving to be a better human and adding valueβto your family, your friends, and your workplace. π‘
We are especially grateful for their continued support of our program since the very beginning. Dennis was on the Mount Zion Illinois CEO Board since its inception, and Claire has stepped into a leadership role as our Mentoring Coordinator on our board. We appreciate their hard work, dedication, and investment in the success of our students and program.
Thank you, TCCI, for an impactful and inspiring visit!
