Organization:  Founded in 2010, the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship partners with communities throughout the United States to establish and maintain quality CEO programs.  Our vision is to be the standard for entrepreneurship education in the United States.  We do that by providing world class customer service, guidance and content to our CEO communities.

Job Title: Communications Specialist

Job Title Summary:

For Midland Institute to be successful and take on the current and future growth, we need to be able to communicate with customers effectively, lead creative projects, craft visual tools, manage communication campaigns, coordinate web series and aid in testing and rolling out user experiences for all our resources and training platforms. Both existing CEO programs and new programs will benefit from the project management of the Communication Specialist as their thoughtful coordination of creative and strategic assets and tools will aid in improving MIE's value proposition.

This role is responsible for the flow of cohesive communications from MIE to its target audiences, including content production, design support, and communication strategy. The Communication Specialist will directly support Program Developers through chapter specific or system wide communications to maintain and increase connectivity of MIE.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Project Management - identify prioritization and manage multiple team projects at once
  • Organize and implement a high level of content produced and released by MIE
  • Copywriting - ability to craft compelling communications
  • Content Production - create and manage live Developer Series
  • Be mindful of a brand standard 
  • Work directly with leadership to ensure roll outs are well planned and executed, ensuring it is our best work
  • List management
  • Design - create graphics/visuals/content support

  • Are self-aware of your strengths and weakness as a creative
  • Past experience includes roles that were collaborative in work environments and team-oriented
  • Can transition between the macro and micro needs of MIE and users. Aptitude to understand big picture and with the skill to carry a project to completion
  • Comfortable researching and finding solutions when a specific task or project stretches outside of current skill sets
  • Have experience engaging multiple target audiences on multiple social platforms (primarily Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Demonstrate past experience working with marketing agency, web developers or team
  • Accurately define, understand, and prioritize the needs of the target audience
  • Are familiar with editing software
  • Are proficient with Active Campaign and other social media management platforms
  • Able to collect, analyze and prioritize feedback from users and trainees on all MIE platforms
  • Be prepared to provide a portfolio of the best written copy, design, photography, video, and projects that you've created/led
