A VISIT WITH REPRESENTATIVE HAAS

This week, Kankakee County CEO students had the special opportunity to meet with State Representative Jackie Haas, who serves the constituents of the 79th District.

Rep. Haas generously took time to sit down with our CEO class and share about her important role as a state legislator. She walked students through the legislative process, from how a bill is proposed to how it moves through committees and the House. Students came prepared with thoughtful questions and left with a deeper understanding of how government and public policy work behind the scenes.
The conversation also explored how elected officials can help create opportunities for business development in our communities, which is an important topic for young entrepreneurs and future leaders to consider.
