ποΈ Business Visit Spotlight: Home Source Warehouse ποΈ
Today our CEO students had the opportunity to visit Home Source Warehouse, a family run business owned by Tommy and Nicole Copeland. Previously, the business was owned and operated by Nicoleβs parents James and Mary Jane Richard.
What makes this visit even more special is that Nicole is an alumni of the very first Jefferson County CEO class. She shared how she once had no plans of returning home to run the family business. After gaining experience working elsewhere in Kentucky, life brought her back home. With her husband by her side, they are leading and growing the business with purpose and vision.
Home Source Warehouse operates Thursday through Saturday, maximizing efficiency while focusing on what matters most, the customer experience. Because of their location outside of town, Nicole emphasized that advertising is essential. No one just stumbles across them. They are intentional about fair pricing, price transparency, and condensing the buying cycle so customers can purchase and take their items home the same day. That βtake it home todayβ niche gives them a strong competitive advantage.
Their large inventory, smart use of showroom space, and deep understanding of their target audience allow them to offer furniture that truly fits the lifestyle of the community they serve. They also adapt to customer needs and recognize the seasonal nature of their business when families are spending more time at home.
Beyond sales, their heart for the community shows through partnerships like Sleep in Heavenly Peace, helping provide mattresses for children in need.
So many real world lessons today about adaptability, knowing your market, serving your community, and sometimes finding your way back home to build something meaningful. We are grateful for business owners like Tommy and Nicole who invest in our students and lead by example.
