The CEO program has improved plenty of my skills but I think that the most improved skill I improved was my networking. We had a lot of business visits and guest speakers for a lot of different things, but the thing that came around in a full circle every time was networking with other people. I learned from business owners that the best advertising for almost any business is word of mouth and keeping a good reputation. The CEO broadened my business knowledge, showing me the ins and outs of many different businesses. I am a person that learns off of examples, and seeing the behind the scenes of these different businesses gave me a great understanding of how running a business really is. This class put my idea that I wanted to be a business owner into concrete. Before the class I liked the idea of owning a business but I didn't really know exactly how running a business works. I learned how to work with people that I have never met before because I was put in a high expectation class with people from different schools. Because of that I now have connections with people outside of my school as well as more people that are from my school. This class offered me an opportunity to start my own business, and do all of the necessary steps that you need to start a real big business. Like I said I learn from examples so actually making my own business, creating my business plan, working out the financials, and finally executing it really taught me a lot about how the whole business world works. On top of all of that I get to continue my CEO experience and put it in the real world by keeping my business alive over the summer and hopefully longer than that. Best of all, the CEO gave me the opportunity to make some money over the summer and not have a boring regular job.
