Another powerhouse site visit today with Adam Vitale, President of G&M Distributors.
Adam shared the history of behind G&M and how it started by his Great-Grandfather, August Rinella, falling asleep on a train from Chicago and getting kicked off the train in Galesburg.
Out of adversity, good things can happen.
August started selling fruit, then escalated into a Fruit & Produce Distributor, which eventually led to G&M.
Adam’s career started in the hospitality industry, then moved to consulting, which led to a job with one of the largest distributors in the U.S. where he said he was able to make mistakes and learn with other people’s money😁. Adam then came back to Galesburg to join the family business.
Adam leads G&M based on three core values:
Achievement, Professionalism and to be #1 partners with their customers and wholesalers.
G&M is in the business of bringing people together and serving the 24 counties and communities where they do business.
Adam also shared that you can’t be afraid to fail, however, you need to be able to recover fast.
